Return to Beringen

by illogical42 on May 30th, 2010

I can’t even remember the last time we did an urbex trip, so this one was just in time. Together with my partner in crime oseven we went back to the old abandoned mine in Beringen, only to find the place was much cleaner (we got home almost squeeky clean), safer (where’s all the ladders to the 2nd and 3rd floor?) and even smelling better (hey, the foul stench is gone!). Could this be because some drunk mofo got a Darwin-award for removing himself from the human genepool when he fell a couple of stories?

In short, it’s being renovated (some people where working there during Ascension Day) to be included in the Groen Metropool route. Great, now urbexing is becoming salon-fahig?

Pirotte

by illogical42 on June 17th, 2007

On a pleasant and sunny Spring afternoon I visited an old Belgian abandoned military camp, located in Germany. As you can see, I wasn’t the first by far. Apart from the grafitti the terrain was used as camping spot and paintball games. A lot of visitors left things behind, like empty bottles, a cooling box or an old game controller. The weird part was that I found at least 10 single separate sneakers…  no pairs. Weird people those Teutonians ;)
