Do you remember the first time you saw a rainbow as a kid? Something new in the sky, after the rain. And the colors were amazing. I still stop and look whenever I see a rainbow.
Once in a while you can see one or two fainter siblings. But this summer I saw a rainbow without the obligatory rain. And it was beautiful! And instead of touching the horizon, it was all overhead. After a little research it turns out to be a halo, created by light reflecting on ice crystals high up in the sky. Following the descriptions in the wiki I haven’t been able to establish what kind of halo it was, but I’m assuming it is a circumscribed halo.
Finally, the Ozric Tentacles were in town again today. Not my town, but somewhere in the neighbourhood.
We arrived just in time to catch the last of the Belgian support act, Quantum Fantay. Soon after the concert started it was clear we were up for a treat, because we got a 2 hour jam session. The only regret I had was that the parts of the lightshow from QF that we saw were better than the Ozrics…
Today I got some wonderful news: I just received confirmation that one of my pictures is selected for the exposition “Duisternis” (Darkness), organised by the Brabantse Milieufederatie. My image will be shown in the public library in Berkel-Enschot, from October 30th to November 27th, 2010.
